Biography

Hannah Wing was born on 1 January 1781, the daughter of Reuben Wing and Priscilla (Unknown) Wing. The place of birth is unknown, but it was probably somewhere in the District of Maine in Massachusetts, United States. The birth was recorded at Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts),^[1] almost certainly after her parents moved there sometime in the 1790s.

Research Note

Several unsourced Internet sites claim that she was the Hannah Wing who married Winthrop Lovejoy at Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts) in 1808. Winthrop's gravestone shows his wife Hannah's dates as 1788-1858, Ages of birth on gravestones are often incorrect, but usually not be as much as seven years. That the Hannah of this profile may have been the wife of Winthrop Lovejoy cannot be discounted, but more proof will be necessary to establish the connection.
