Biography

Mary Elizabeth Wilcox was born on 22 March 1918 at Sandgate, Bennington County, Vermont, USA. She appeared on the census of 9 Jan. 1920 in the household of her parents, Willie Ozial Wilcox and Addie Belle (Morey) Wilcox, at Sandgate, Bennington Co., Vermont.^[1] She appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 in the household of her parents at Arlington, Bennington Co., Vermont. ^[2]

She married Lawrie Willis Hess, son of Henry and Ethel (Royce) Hess, on 28 April 1938 at Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont.^[3][4]

She and Lawrie appeared on the census of 9 April 1940 at Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont.^[5]

Mary died on 14 Oct. 2005 at Bennington, Bennington County, Vermont, at age 87 and was buried at West Arlington Cemetery, West Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont.^[6] Her memorial has a photo of her headstone shared with Lawrie and links to those of family members.^[7]
