Biography

Albert was born in Farnham Surrey on 26 February 1873. He is the son of George Stock and Ann Nichols. Albert was christened at St Andrew's Church Farnham on 6 April 1873.

At the time of the 1891 census, Albert was residing in the George White household in Petersfield Hampshire, where he was working as a 'smith'. He would work for most of his life as a blacksmith and toolsmith.

On 8 July 1895 at St Thomas-On-The-Bourne Church in Bourne (Farnham), Albert married Emily Cross. They would become the parents of 6 children.

Albert and his family lived in Eastleigh Hampshire from the time of their marriage until they ultimately emigrated to Canada in 1913. Albert sailed aboard the ship 'Sicilian' to St John's Newfoundland - he would settle in Pointe Claire (Montreal) Quebec.

Albert passed away in Montreal in 1957 at about age 84. He is interred at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Pointe Claire (Montreal). Wife Emily survived until 1958.

Research Notes

We have seen research which suggests that Albert died specifically on 28 June 1957. However, this date is unsourced. We also note that Albert and Emily appear in both the 1921 and 1931 Canada Census as seen on Ancestry - however, we are unable to access those records to include them here.
