Biography

Elizabeth was born in Farnham on 13 November 1859. She is the daughter of George Stock and Ann Nichols. Elizabeth was christened in Farnham on 18 December 1859.

At the time of the 1881 Census, Elizabeth age 21 was a prisoner at 'Her Majesty's Prison' Winchester Hampshire. The circumstances surrounding her incarceration are unclear.

In 1883 in Winchester, Elizabeth married Henry Stone. They became the parents of 5 children who were born between 1883 and 1895. Their younger son Henry died at age 16 in 1908. The family lived for many years at 30 York Road Leyton Essex.

In the 1901 census, Elizabeth records that she worked as a machinist (ladies' shirts) in addition to caring for her 5 children.

Elizabeth was widowed in 1933. In 1939 she was residing in Leyton along with her 2 unmarried daughters. (All 3 of her other children had died by this time.)

Elizabeth passed away in Epping Essex in 1948 at about age 88.
