"Emily Jane, n. 9.11.1838, who married Rev. Matthew Aust Pierpoint, sometime vicar of Elworthy, co. Somst. She died in 1916, having been a widow for many years. She had as issue (1) Herbert, who died unmarried in 1897, (2) William, (3) Arthur, (4) Frederick, (5) Marguerite."

1838 Emily Jane Statham was was born on 19 November 1838. Her parents were Francis Statham and Jane Kington^[1]. In his book on the Statham family, SPH Statham lists her birthdate as 9 November 1838. She was baptised on 14 December 1838 in the Parish Church, Parish of St Mary, Newington, Kennington Park Road, Southwark, London, England^[2]. In the baptism record, her father's name is given as Francis with the occupation of 'Gent'. Her mother's first name is given as Jane.

1841 In the 1841 Census of England and Wales held on 6 June 1841, the Statham family were living on the High Street in the Borough of Lambeth in the Parish of St Mary Newington, London, England ^[3]. Note that at the date of the census, Francis Statham was a schoolmaster and that his son Francis Kington Statham was not staying with the family.

1856 Emily Jane Statham married Matthew Aust Pierpoint in the District of Newington, London, England. This marriage appears in the index register in the September quarter^[4].

1916 Emily Jane (Statham) Pierpoint died in 1916. Her death was registered in the December quarter of 1916 in the registration district of East Preston in the County of Sussex^[5]. Image of death index record
