There is no evidence of this Rufus Spencer buried in Riverside Cemetery, no birth record, no census record, no marriage record, or military record found to date. Randall Spencer, please offer more evidence, you have posted a bad birth date. He would be a soldier in War of 1812, no record found to date. Rufus Spencer lost his first wife Larina and second wife Cynthia about 1790's, 1805 removed to Martinsburg, Lewis, New York, recorded in 1810, 1820, 1830 Federal Census, dying 1836, recorded in his last pension payment. Martinsburg was settled 1803, by Brig. Gen. Walter Martin, builder of Greystone Manor, son of Adam Martin and Abigail Cheney Martin.
