Nathan Smith, born 16 Sep 1700 at Groton, Connecticut, was the fourth child of Nehemiah Smith and Dorothy Wheeler.

He married 5 Dec 1723 Mary Denison. They had 6 or 7 children during the timeframe through July 1745.

Nathan Smith died 4 Dec 1784 at Groton.

Note: Ancestor of noted actor Ted Danson (III)[1] through son Oliver Smith.

It is disconcerting that his name appears as Nathaniel, when browsing through Wikitree, because it looks like Nathan is missing. Would the profile managers please consider changing the first name? See, e.g. Jabez Smith/House or the [007628894_01247 probate record of his father] or his birth record. His name was Nathan, not Nathaniel. Thanks! :)

According to all of the sources I have found his name was Nathan NOT Nathaniel.
