Biography
James was born about 1829 the son of John Pollock a doctor of medicine, and Margaret (Mathieson) Pollock, based on the details shown on his death record.
James married Isabella Meiklejohn (1827 - 1900) on the 18th November 1853 in Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland.[1]
1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 James a coal merchant, was living at North Side Cowane Street, Stirling, Stirlingshire with his wife Isabella, and their children John, Agnes and Margaret.[2]
1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 James a coal merchant, was living at 44 St Mary Wynd, Stirling, Stirlingshire with his wife Isabella, and their children John, Agnes, Hugh, James and Isabella.[3]
1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 James a grocer and dairyman, was living at 8 Cowane Street, Stirling, Stirlingshire with his wife Isabella, and their children James and Isabella.[4]
1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 James a grocer and dairyman, was living at 8 Cowane Street, Stirling, Stirlingshire with his wife Isabella, and their daughter Isabella. Also living there was Isabella's illegitimate daughter Margaret Pollock aged 8.[5]
James, of 8 Cowane Street, Stirling, Stirlingshire, died aged 70 on the 3rd January 1899 by drowning in the River Forth in Stirling, Stirlingshire.[6][7]
