Richard was born in 1775. He was baptized on the 11th August 1775 in North Molton, the son of Philip Passmore and his wife Margaret Passmore formerly Kingdon. Richard was the 4th child of Philip and his second wife Margaret Kingdon. He married Mary Williams at All Saints Church North Molton by banns. Richard could sign his name, but Mary couldn't. His occupation recorded was a woolcomber the same as his father Philip Passmore, and his brothers William and Robert Passmore. Witnesses to the marriage were William Williams and Ann Williams, his future in-laws. Richard was a beneficiary in the will of his brother Robert Passmore proved in 1827. Legacies with conditions to Richard: £40 the sum to be left untouched unless Richard be in extreme distress, and then not to exceed £5 per year. The interest payable yearly. Richard died on the 29th April 1841 in North Molton, before the census was taken aged 65. His last known occupation was a schoolmaster Cause of death on the death certificate was consumption (tuberculosis).
