Biography

Elizabeth Murray was born in Ireland.

Elizabeth Murray was born in about 1817. She was the fifth daughter of James Patrick Murray and Elizabeth Rushworth.

Her father James died on 5 December 1834.

Elizabeth was living at Rosseanna, near Athlone, County Westmeath when her brother Lieutenant George Don Murray died on 12 August 1857 at about age 31. She was the executrix of his estate^[1].

Her mother Elizabeth died 15 November 1865 at about age 82.

In the 1901 England Census, Elizabeth Murray (aged 84, single and Living on Own Means) was recorded in the household of her widowed sister Cordelia Maria Trollope at Grosvenor Square, Middlesex, Greater London.

Elizabeth passed away on 10 December 1904, unmarried^[2].

DEATH OF A MURRAY OF ELIBANK.

The death has just taken place at Norwood at the advanced age of 87 of Miss Elizabeth Mary Murray, fifth daughter of the late Major-General James Patrick Murray, C.B., sometime M.P. for Yarmouth, and great-granddaughter of Alexander, fourth Lord Elibank of Ettrick Forest, Selkirkshire.^[4]
