Research Notes

From Volume 1 of Meador Families of Virginia and Points West by Victor P Meador (1989) p 34, "Jesse Meador had been given 200 acres from his large holdings by his father, (5) Joel, in his will. This property lay between Indian Run and Grimes Creek. This land was later sold by some of his children to his sons Jonas and Thomas, and to Thomas's son Ananias. This deed (in Deed Book 12, page 2, dated Oct. 15, 1826) was signed by David, Polly, Moses, Franky, Nancy, and Rhoda (and some of their spouses), thus confirming their parentage. However, NOT named were Barsheba (who was in Tennessee); Amelia (in West Virginia); Agnes (deceased); Ama/Anna (in West Virginia); and the questionable Daniel, who may have been handicapped and incapable of making a deed. Thus, the listing of children given here is quite probably correct"

Children by Frances:
1)Thomas, 2)Barsheba, 3)Amelia "Milly", 4)Agnes "Aggy", 5)Ama or Anna, 6) Daniel, 7)David, 8)Frances "Franky", and 9)Rhoda
Children by Mary:
1)Nancy, 2)Mary "Polly", and 3)Moses Greer
Children by Lucy: 1) Jonas

"Jesse or Jesey Meador is apparently the youngest son of Jonas and Frances, and is the only known son to have served under arms in the Revolution. As mentioned in Chapter II, Jesse enlisted under Captain Joseph Carrington 17 October 1775 in the “Minute Men Service”, Amelia District, Cumberland County, Virginia.

Meador-176 and Meador-21 appear to represent the same person because: Although Meador-21 has no dates, the spouse and child are the same. They appear to be representing the same person. Meador-21 is the lower number and the merge should take place.
Needs merged please thank you

Was this profile perhaps created to represent (Meador-177), Jesse Meador? The media linked here is for (Meador-177)

If that was the intention of this profile, a merge should be proposed for the two with Meador as the correct LNAB
