Biography

William was born on 28 February 1853 in Murray, Western Australia.^[1] He is the son of John McLarty and Mary Pollard.

He was a farmer a Pinjarra then to Kimberley where he was a grazier (1885 Almanac).^[2]

The death occurred at his home in Pin-jarra, on April 8, of Mr. W. G. McLarty, who had been in ill-health for some time. (He was in his 73rd year. The late Mr. McLarty was an early pioneer of the Kimberleys, where he went in 1880 with his brother and Mr. Anthony Cornish to start the Liveringa Station for the Kim-berley Pastoral Company. He managed the station for 20 years. He had of late years been living at Pinjarra.^[3]
