Samuel Hyde[1] was the son of Samuel Hyde and Jane Lee. He is referred to as Lt Samuel Hyde in the Lebanon, Connecticut death records.[2][3] He was born on May 5, 1665, at Norwich, New London, Connecticut[4][5]
Samuel married Elizabeth Calkins on December 16, 1690, at Norwich, New London, Connecticut. Between 1691 and about 1712, the couple had ten children: Samuel, Daniel, Elijah, Caleb, David, Ebenezer, Sarah, Elizabeth, Lydia and Anne.[6][7]
On April 28, 1717, Lt. Samuel Hyde was admitted to the First Congregational Church in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut. [8] He died at Lebanon on November 6, 1742.[9][10] Samuel is buried at the Old Cemetery in Lebanon. "Hide, Samuel, consort of Elizabeth, died Nov. 6, 1742, aged 77 years."[11] You can see a picture of his gravestone at Find A Grave.
