Samuel had at least three children - Robert, Nathaniel, and Elizabeth - who married Thomas Greg. Samuel Hyde was a small Lancashire landowner who became involved in the Belfast linen trade. [1]
From the book: Irish-American Trade, 1660-1783. " In the period between 1731 and the early 1750's, John Gordon, Samuel Hyde, Benjamin Legg, John Boyd, Robert Armstrong, and the partnership of Wilson & Pringle were among the Belfast merchants most actively involved with British America." [2]
