Samuel Hood son of the Reverend Samuel Hood and his wife, Mary Hoskins was born on the 12th of December 1824.[1]
On 25th of August 1759 at St Thomas Church in Portsmouth he married Susanna Linzee, [2]daughter of Edward Linzee of Portsmouth.[1]
Samuel was created 1st Viscount Hood of Whitley in Warwickshire on 1 June 1796.
He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath in 1815.
Samuel died at 5 Queen's Square, Bath on 27 January 1816 and was buried next to his wife at Greenwich Hospital [3] on the 8th of February. [4]
