Biography

Cora (Holt) Dillion is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Cora was born on Valentine's Day in 1900 in Missouri. She was the daughter of Ed Holt and Lizzy (Maupin) Holt.^[1]

The 1900 Census,^[2] enumerated on 20 Jun 1900, shows her at age three months in the home of her parents in Prairie Township, Montgomery County, Missouri.

The 1910 Census^[3] shows her at age 10 in the home of her parents in Montgomery Township, Montgomery County, Missouri.

The 1920 Census^[4] shows Cora at age 20 with her parents and 4 siblings in Prairie Township, Montgomery County, Missouri.

She married John Edward Dillion on 24 Jul 1924 in Du Quoin, Perry, Illinois. The ceremony was performed by Cora's brother-in-law, Rollie Harmon, who the pastor in a church there, which is why they traveled to Illinois to get married.

The 1940 Census^[5] shows her and John in Hartford Township, Pike County, (near Middletown) Missouri with two children:

She passed away in 1991,^[6] and is buried at the Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Montgomery County, Missouri. ^[7]
