Biography
Little is known about Alse Grantham; according to RC Anderson in Great Migration, “she is not seen in any New England record…”[1]
Alse Grantam was the daughter of Walter and Elinor Grantam of West Dean. She is the “quite probable” wife of John Emery, married on 26 June 1620 in Whiteparish, Wiltshire, England, based on Frederick J. Nicholson research published in The American Genealogist.[2][3]
Nicholson's argument supporting the identification:
Walter Grantam's will: the date of the will and the mention of the one grandchild Alice, coincides with the timing of the marriage and the probably age of their first child Alice, who would have likely the only child born by that date.
Their first child recorded in Romsey was Elenor ("Helena" in the baptism), the name of Alice Grantam's mother
The chronology and geography are compatible
Based on an estimated age of 20 at marriage, Alse would have been born in about 1600. There is a baptism for Alse Graunton, daughter of Walter 13 June 1591 at West Dean, Wiltshire, England,[4] which is possible, but would make her about 7 years older than her husband.
Alse died before 1647, if not earlier, as her husband remarried on 29 October 1647.[1]
Children
Alice b say 1622; m John Chater; birth estimated based on the 5 February 1622/3 probating of Walter Grantham’s will.[5]

Grantham-216 and Grantham-13 appear to represent the same person because: Appear to be the same person. Some conflicting information, siblings and father the same. PPP PGM
Grantham-1141 and Grantham-13 appear to represent the same person because: Grantham-1141 is just another false start that should not be cluttering up the tree. Clearly meant to refer to same person as Grantham-13.
Actually I don't think they are the same person. There was an Alice Grantham born in 1631 at West Dean to Thomas Grantham-45. The link to ancestry.com on Thomas' profile was not correct, I found the correct record and fixed the link. This has now also been added to Alice Grantham-1141.
Grantham-1141 and Grantham-13 do not represent the same person because: Two separate people, Thomas did have a daughter Alice Grantham born 1631 at West Dean. The source has been added to the profile of Alice Grantham-1141 and her father Thomas.
