Biography
Jacob Anton Gabriel (known as Anton) was born Mar 13, 1832 (bapt. Mar 16) in Galgenen, Canton Schwyz, Switzerland. He was the son of J. Alois Diethelm and M. Theresia Market. His parents lived on Grabenegg farm. His godparents were Jacob Anton Bruhin and Anna Maria Market. [1]
Anton married:
- 1) M. Theresia Stuky or Stuki (1839-1882) on 02/12/1866 in Galgenen. Dtr of Anton Stuki and Maria Theresia Schatten. They had at least 4 children.
- 2) Regina Zahner, widow (?-1884) on 8/6/1883 in Galgenen. Dtr of August Zahner and Regina Gieger.
Anton passed away in 1884 in Switzerland.[2]
"One daughter immigrated to Santa Clara, California, USA in 1891."[3] "The story goes that the three sisters came across together & around the horn to California in 1891."[4] (According to 1 daughter's obituary, he had 4 daughters, Theresa, Barbara, Regina & Josepha and one son, Carl - pq)
