Biography

Josef Martin Lukas was born in 1825. Son of Alois Diethelm and Theresia Market.

Not certain which of his names he was known by. Parents often named multiple sons Josef (it's a saint name), but they were known by one of their middle names. He had a brother named Josef Fridalin, who went by Fridalin.

Date & place of death unknown.

2 of his brothers, Carl & Michael, immigrated to Carver County, Minnesota, USA in 1854. A 33 yr old man named Martin Diethelm (with wife Barbara & 6 children) was also on that ship, listed almost immediately after them on the passenger manifest. It's likely that that passenger is somehow related to Carl & Michael, but unsure if it's this man because he is 4 yrs older than Josef Martin Lukas, & he settled in a different part of the country than the 2 brothers. - pq[1]
