Joseph Alois (aka Josephi Aloysis, called "Alois") was born in 1786 in Canton Schwyz, Switzerland. He was the son of Simon Diethelm and Sibilla Züger. Since his parents were born and died in Vorderthal, Schwyz, Switzerland, assume he was born there too.
Alois married:
Alois was a farmer and lived on Grabenegg farm, in the village of Galgenen, Canton Schwyz. He passed away in 1848.
Two of Alois and Theresia's sons left Switzerland in the 1850's and immigrated to Carver County, Minnesota, USA.

Note found in Diethelm.org about Maria Katherina Mader: "We're not 100% sure if their parents were Johann Ulrich Mäder and Anna Maria Schwyter."
This information was found in other people's family trees (which often contradicted each other) & can't be verified for accuracy. Although I list all sources, FamilyTreeMaker contains obvious errors and is used only for comparison. The tree on Rootsweb also has errors in places.
