Biography

Marie Olive was born 31 May 1856 at Saint Brunos Parish in Van Buren, Aroostook, Maine. She was the daughter of François Desrosiers and Louise Lebel.[1]

Her 1st marriage was to Aimé Boudreau 7 January 1878 in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunwick. They were the parents of 7 children. Aimé died in May of 1895 and their last child was born 4 months later.

Her 2nd marriage was to Théophile Noël on 8 January 1899 in Haute-Aboujagane, Westmorland, New Brunswick. No children were born to this union.[2]

Olive died 26 September 1937 in Haute Aboujagane, Westmorland, New Brunswick.[3]

Research Notes

1) -- All French and/or Acadian girls were baptised with the 1st name Marie but always were known by their 2nd name just as all boys had the 1st name Joseph.

2) -- The informant on her death certificate stated that she was born 13 January 1857 but that's impossible seeing that she was baptised in May of 1856.

Olive herself gives 8 May 1858 as her date of birth in the 1901 Census and June 1855 in the 1911 Census --- clearly in those days, people weren't certain of their exact birth date.
