Bill is a California native. He was born and raised in northern California and spent many years living in the San Francisco Bay Area working in the semiconductor and computer industries. He and his wife of 55 years (as of 2018) currently live in a small community in the northern California Sierra Nevada mountains.
Bill caught the genealogy bug in about 2004, after going to a Scottish Games event in Pleasanton, California and finding a clan tent for the Davidson Clan. Until that time he only thought of himself as having French ancestry. After the Davidson Clan encounter he immediately took an interest in genealogical research of his possible Scottish ancestry. Alas, the tie back to Scotland has not yet been established.
Bill utilizes the Reunion genealogy software on a Macintosh for his primary research tool. He also has a copy of his research on a personal web site [1]. Those interested in Bill's research may visit that web site and login with the user name and password of "guest". Bill intends to migrate all of his information to WikiTree as he gets it more refined and sourced. The web site is still a work in progress.

P.S. Excellent job on your tags, and very helpful bio!
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
