Notes:

• For whatever reason, this Oliver DENISON has been confused with Oliver Hillard DENNIS throughout their history. Most likely it is because the Barbour Collection has an error in it, and has incorrectly listed Oliver DENISON as "Oliver Hillard Denison".
• The same error is repeated in 'Genealogy of The Descendants of William Chesebrough, perhaps due to the above.^[1]
• It's impossible to ask them why, however, it's mostly likely that they thought that DENNIS was a typo, and that Hillard was just missing from Oliver DENISON.

THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT MEN THAT MARRIED TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE.^[2]

• The only other possibility that this Oliver Denison married twice, but no record has been found to support this theory.

• Exploring the distant possibility that Elizabeth Chesebrough did in fact marry Oliver DENISON and had a child named Oliver Denison that perhaps did not survive.^[3]

Oliver died 14 Feb 1758, and is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, in Mystic.^[8][9]
