He was the son of Sterling Cordle and Mary Roberson.

Marriage to Sarah Olivia Robertson

On 28 Aug 1879 in Lunenburg County, Virginia, 23-year-old William Thomas Cordle married 19-year-old Sarah Olivia Robertson (1860 – bef. 1890) of unknown parents.

"Suicide Will Recover. The condition of William T.
