John Coles lll was born at Enniscorthy, Albemarle County Virginia in 1774. He was the son of John Coles and Rebecca Elizabeth Tucker.
He married Selina Skipwith when he was a bachelor of 48 years on 25 April 1822. They went on to have at least four children.
In 1830 his Estouteville Plantation of 3000 acres had 57 slaves; buildings values at $10,000 & coaches valued at $400.
He passed away at Estouteville, Albemarle County, Virginia in 1848.
