Ivar Gustav Berglund was born 6 September 1893, Lexington, Missouri to Nels F. Berglund and Hannah Christianson Berglund both imigrated from Sweden to America. Ivar Gustav died in Colorado on the 16th of December, 1978.[1][2]
Ivar was five years old when his father Nels died, Nels had a hard life working in the coal mines.

In 1912, Ivar's mother Hannah died, Ivar was nineteen.

27 April 1914 Ivar G. Berglund married Nellie May Bray[5]
1915: Coal Miner and also worked general store in Lexington[6]
1915 son Ivar Lawrence Berglund was born in Missouri[7]
1916: fruit orchard possibly in Wyoming[6] In 1917: Carpenter [6]
1917: Ivar G. Berglund registered for WWI on 5 June 1917, he stated he had a wife and child 2 years old, lived at 1358 Emerson, Denver, CO, worked at the Stockyards in Denver as a Common Laborer, he was born 6 September 1893, Lexington, MO, was tall, had brown eyes, and brown hair.[8]
1917: son John Lavern Berglund was born in Colorado.[9]
1919: son Richard Berglund born was born in Colorado.[10][9]
1920 Census, Denver, Colorado, Ivar was 20, and a laborer at Dairy Farm[9]
In 1921, all three boys became sick with diphtheria, they all were in the hospital, only Ivar L. and John revivied, Richard the youngest didn't make it. [11]
1925, Nellie became sick with double pneumonia and died.[11]
