David Valentine Auxier was born on 30 April 1840 in Johnson, Kentucky, United States, son of Nathaniel Auxier (1815–1865) and Hester Ann Mayo (1819–1864).[1]

His siblings were:

In 1850, David was living in the household of his parents Nathaniel and Hester A Auxier in Johnson, Kentucky[2]

In 1860, David was living in the household of his parents Nathanael and Hesteson Auxier in Johnson, Kentucky.[3]

Captain Auxier married Elizabeth Hinton two months before his death. [3]

David died on 4 October 1864 in Saltville, Smyth, Virginia, United States, aged 24. He is commemorated at Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.[1]
