Lula Grace Atkins was born to Horace James Atkins and Ella Lawson Tate on 15 Dec 1908 in Mount Vernon, Cumberland, Tennessee, United States. Grandma was delivered by a Mid-Wife.^[1]

My mother & sister, Missy, always claimed Grandma was born on the Winter Soltice, now I have proof she was not!^[2]

She lived in her father's household in 1910 & 1920.^[3][4]

The day after graduating Tellico High School, on 12 May 1928 in Monroe, Tennessee, United States, she married James Harry Hawkins who was from Vonore, Tennessee, United States.^[5]

She lived with Harry in Alcoa, Blount, Tennessee, United States during 1930.^[6]

In 1940, Lula and Harry moved to Meigs, Tennessee, United States.^[7]

She did have a son, Jerry Norman Hawkins, born between census's in 1936 in Tellico Plains, Monroe, Tennessee, United States that is not mentioned due to death.

Jerry was age one (1) when he died. He died on 5 Jun 1937.^[8]

I did find his Death Certificate, which I downloaded as an Image to this profile.

My grandmother died on July 21, 2005 in Alcoa, Blount County, Tennessee, USA.^[9] and is buried in Sherwood Chapel & Memorial, Alcoa, Blount County, Tennessee, USA.^[10]
