Bertha Luise (Althoff) Dahms has roots in the region now known as Brandenburg, Germany.
Bertha Luise, daughter of Heinrich Friedrich Althoff and Charlotta Rosina Deetz,[1][2] was born 11 August 1816 in Berlin, Brandenburg, Preußen (now in Germany).[1] Her parents had her baptized there 25 August 1816 in the Evangelische church.[1]
On 28 June 1840 in Berlin, she married Johann Wilhelm Ludwig Dahms,[2] son of Charlotte Juliane Grätz.[2] They had children—four of whom died in November/December 1852:
