Biography

Charlotta Rosina (Deetz) Althoff has roots in the region now known as Brandenburg, Germany.

Charlotta Rosina, daughter of Johann Christoph Deetz and Maria Louisa Hauck,[1] was born 12 May 1775 in Berlin, Kurfürstentum Brandenburg, Heiliges Römisches Reich (now in Germany).[1] Her parents had her baptized at Friedrichs Hospital in Berlin on 21 May 1775.[2]

On 19 October 1794 in Berlin, she married Heinrich Friedrich Althoff[3] with whom she had children:

  1. Charlotte Louise Althof (b. 30 August 1794;[4] bapt. 6 September 1794;[4]
    d. 2 February 1796).[5]
  2. Dorothea Friederike (Althoff) Frühauf (b. 18 December 1796;[6] bapt. 26 December 1796;[6] m. Johann Samuel Christian Frühauf;[7] d. unknown).
  3. Marie Henriette (Althof) Polkain (b. 24 January 1798;[8] bapt. 28 January 1798;[8] m. Carl Gottlob Eduard Polkain;[9] d. 24 November 1849).[10][11]
  4. Friederike Charlotte (Althof) Voigt (b. 7 October 1800;[12] bapt. 12 October 1800;[12] m. Johann Christian Voigt;[13] d. 7 February 1836).[14]
  5. Heinrich Wilhelm Althoff (b. 27 January 1803;[15] bapt. 6 February 1803;[15] d. unknown).

Having survived her husband for more than a decade,[29] Charlotta Rosina died 11 June 1845 in Berlin[30] and was buried there 14 June 1845.[30]
