Biography

Mary Squire was born October 18, 1681[1]at Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts[1]to parents John Squire[1]and his wife Sarah (Frances) Squire.[1]

Marriage

On March 2, 1699 Mary married John Hascall Jr.[2] in Middleborough, Plymouth Massachusetts.[2]John was born on June 11, 1670 in Middleborough, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[3]He died on February 17, 1727/1728 in Killingly, Windham, Connecticut.[4]It was here at Killingly that John and Mary began spelling their last name "Hascall."[3]The spelling has been carried on in this branch of the family.[3]The house they started to build at Killingly was destroyed by fire before it's completion.[3]

  1. Sarah was born on March 22, 1699/1700 (or 1700/1701) in Middleborough, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She died June 5, 1704 in the same city.
  2. Mary was born on January 11, 1701/1702. She died about 1732.
  3. John was born on February 20, 1703/1704. He died in November 1737.
  4. Squire was born on June 1, 1706. He died on June 8, 1774.
  5. Sarah was born on March 21, 1707/1708 in Middleborough. She died on March 10, 1709/1710 in the same city.
  6. Jonathan was born on June 25, 1710 in Middleborough.
  7. Joseph was born on July 15, 1712. He died on October 21, 1777.
  8. Patience was born October 4, 1714. She died on November 29, 1794
  9. Samuel was born on October 3, (or 30) 1717 in Middleborough.
  10. Susanna was born on June 20, 1720.
  11. William was born on August 20, 1722. He died before 1792.
  12. Abigail was born on February 25, 1724/1725. She died on May 6, 1811.

Late in life, at the age of 32 years, Mary joined the Middleboro church.[3]When the family moved to Killingly, it was several years before she requested dismissal.[3]This is unusual since the church played such an important part in the lives of most of the people.[3] She was admitted to the North Killingly Church 31 Dec 1727, from Middleboro.[5]

Mary died in Killingly, Windham, Connecticut.[4]
