Biography

"Patience Hascol the daughter of John & Mary Hascol Was born october the 4 1714" in Middleborough, Massachusetts^[1][2]

John Cory, of Thomas, and Patience Haskell/Hascall were married by Gideon Durfee, Justice, 13 or 14 Jan 1739/40, in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island^[3][2] p. 26 of the same printed records indicates that the marriage was recorded on two pages of the original records 1-174 and 1-281 with the two different dates and spellings. John was the son of Thomas and Sarah.^[2]

Patience Cory, widow, was allowed to purchase a small piece of land in Portsmouth from the town council 7 June 1784.^[2]

Patience was recorded in the 1790 Census in Portsmouth, 0-1-2-3 = 1 male under 16, 2 females, 3 total person; living next to son Samuel^[4]
