Mary, daughter of John and Sarah (Francis) Squire, was born in Cambridge 18 October 1681. In 1727, the wife of John Haskell, Mary, was dismissed from the Church at Middleborough to Killingly, Connecticut, where she probably died after this date.[3]
John Hascall sen. and John Hascall jun., of Middleborough sold land formerly belonging to George Soule, to Jacob Tomson on 6 February 1699/70.[3][8]
On 8 September 1711, John Haskall of Middleborough, yeoman, sold for £20, 50 acres of land in Middleborough to Thomas Drinkwater of Taunton, yeoman, which had belonged to his father, John Haskell and Frances Walker; wife Mary also signed the deed.[3][9]
30 March 1716/17, John Hascall of Middleborough, yeoman, sold land to Joseph Bates.[3][10]
On 4 October 1718, John Hascall of Middleborough, sold land in Middleborough, which belonged to his father and uncle Frances Walker, to Jonathan Bryant of Pembroke. This deed was acknowledged from Killingly, Connecticut, by John Hascall on 12 Mar 1725/6.[3][11]
John Haskell/Haskill was baptized and entered the covenant "privately in his own house Feb. 17, 1728, being dangerously sick." by Rev. J. Fisk.[12][13]
He died on 17 Feb 1727/1728 in Killingly, Windham, Connecticut.[3]
On 24 April 1729 administration of the estate of John Haskell of Killingly was granted to Mr. John King of Tanton [sic] in Bristol, Mass. Bay. The inventory of this estate was taken 9 March 1731.[3]Town of Windham, Connecticut Probate Records v. 1-2 1719-1744 Vol 1:1:401; Vol 1:2:186
John changed the spelling of his surname from Haskell to Hascall. His children and most subsequent descendants continued to use the Hascall spelling.
