Fourth Generation descendant of Mayflower passenger, George Soule.
Biography
Abigail Hascall, daughter of John and Mary, was born Feb 25, 1724/5, in Killingly, Connecticut.[1][2][3] She was baptized 13 June 1725.[4]
She married William Ransford in Plainfield, Connecticut, 25 Oct 1757. He died in Norwich, Chenango Co., New York, 2 July 1814, age 85y 0m 1d.[5][2]
The Mayflower George Soule book says William bought 300 acres in Plainfield, Connecticut, in 1735, and then sold it in 1756. Considering that William was only five in 1735, there is definitely something wrong with the statement, dates or wrong William perhaps.[2]
Norwich in Chenango County, New York, which was first settled in 1788.[6] Abigail and William's sons, William and Hascall, set out on foot for Chenango County, New York, about 1790, where they settled in Norwich. Two years later Hascall brought his parents from Connecticut to New York.[7]
Abigail Ransford died 6 May 1811, age 85y 2m 11d, in Norwich, New York.[2][7]
