Biography

William was baptized in Barnstable, Massachusetts, on 8 June 1651 (ref__). The Findagrave memorial shows his birth to be 5 Jun 1651. [1] His gravestone images include a close-up but the data needs to be studied in order to verify the transcribed birth record in Findagrave.

He married Esther _____ by 1683 or as early as 1675. She might have been daughter of James Mathews, and sister of Mehitable who married William's brother Benjamin.[2]

Captain William Hall of Mansfield died on 11 June 1727 in Mansfield, Connecticut. Easter Hall, the wife of Captain William Hall, had been recorded in Mansfield earlier that year, on 19 February 1726-7. [3]

There are different Y haplogroups shown in this profile. James Joseph Hall is my uncle and matches H. Tracy Hall Jr son of H. Tracy Hall. Tracy and I have a common ancestor in Anthony Hall son of William Hall (1702-1764). Both tests were done by the same company, GenTree, prior to 2012. Both results were the same “…predicted Y-DNA Haplogroup is: R-M207 Subgroup: R1b1b2-M269.” Assuming the paternal line for Steven Hall is correct through William Hall (bef.1651-1727) there is an error in the paternal line past William Hall (1702-1764). Either Thomas Hall (1672-1717) is not William Hall (1702-1764) father, or William Hall (bef.1651-1727) is not Thomas Hall (1672-1717) father.

Hall-696 and Hall-3662 appear to represent the same person because: Hello. I created this merge request for 1 reason only - to get your attention. You are both using the same birth record for two distinct profiles. I call this to your attention so that one of you will drop the birth record.
