Biography

George was born in 1832. He was the son of Jonadab Wood and Ann Warriner. Like his father, George was a farmer. He married first Elizabeth Bulmer in 1860 and they had a son John Edward Wood. Elizabeth died in 1866 and George married her younger sister Sarah Bulmer in 1868. ^{[1] [2]}

George and Sarah had two daughters, Annie and Mary Hannah. By 1881 George's farm was 166 acres and he employed two boys to help him. By 1911 George was 79, retired from farming and his unmarried niece Hettie Wood was helping maintain the house. George died in 1916:(*) WOOD,GEORGE of Kirkbymoorside, Yorkshire died 3 Mar 1916. Probate York 4 April to John Edward Wood farmer. Effects 85 pounds.
