Biography

Bayless was born in 1833. He is the son of Jordan Williams and Mary Thompson. ^[1]No marriage record has been located for Bayless (or Bailes), but in 1860 he is recorded on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi with wife "Terry."^[2] As of 1860 the couple had no children. A "B.D." Williams, possibly the subject of the present profile, joined the Mississippi Cavalry.^[3][4]
