Biography

Joseph Williams leased the land known as Limestone Hill, later Springfield Farms located at the mouth of the Conococheague creek a tributary of the Potomac river.

He immigrated from Wales with his wife.

Joseph Williams b. abt.1719 Prince George's^[1] m. Prudence (Holland) d. abt. 1763 Conecocheague Manor (Washington County, MD); their son was General Otto Holland Williams. General William's life can be found in the book "History of Maryland, from the Earliest Period to the Present Day" by J. Thomas Scharf (1879), pages 330-335.^[2][1]
