Biography

Dorothy Inez was born at home in Birmingham, Alabama in 1922. <Jefferson County Board of Health, Certificated Copy of Record of Birth, File #1605> Lived in Birmingham, Alabama and attended schools there until her first marriage in 1939. <1930 Federal Census, Dorothy Lee> Attended Woodlawn HS in Birmingham but did not graduate, instead got married to George Pinson.<"Alabama County Marriages"> Marriage license states Dorothy Inez is 18 yrs old which is not true. George Travis, 21 is son of J.D. Pinson and Mary Ella Carlisle. Stayed in Birmingham with her parents during first marriage, divorced in 1946 and second marriage in 1946. While James H Weston was in Navy she lived in numerous locations such as Boston, Mass, Bermuda, Charleston, SC, L.A. California, Honolulu, Hawaii and Gastonia, NC before family settling in Charlotte, NC once James Weston retired from Navy. After her husband's death in 2005 she stayed in Charlotte, NC until about a year before her death when she was moved to Mooresville, NC while staying in Assisted Living care. Died in her sleep at Carillon Assisted Living. She had been in hospice care for about 3 years for congestive heart condition. Inez Sharp Pinson(Complainant) vs George Travis Pinson(Respondent). Final Decree of Divorce, No. 67040 First: That the bonds of matrimony existing between Complainant and Respondent are dissolved and Inez Sharp Pinson is forever divorced from the said George Travis Pinson. Second: That neither shall again marry until sixty days after this decree. Third: Costs of Court are taxed against Respondent. Fourth: That full care, custody and control of the minor child of marriage, David Edward Pinson, is awarded to the Complainant, the mother with the right on part of Respondent, the father, to see and visit said child. That the Respondent, George Travis Pinson, pay to Complainant the sum of $35 dollars per month for the support of minor child..
