Hey Jim,

Thanks for the head's up on the merge of "Uncle Alfred's" profile Swaim-218.

Apparently the direction of the merge was reversed and it was trying to merge Swaim-218 into Swaim-641. We always want to merge into the oldest profile to reduce redirects. Once I reversed it to merge Swaim-641 into Swaim-218 it went right through.

Hi Jim, I see you just joined WikiTree; welcome! I am not sure that you have read all about our standards for sources and collaboration but it is only polite that one read a profile before changing the listed parents. I refer to James Brown, of which I am a manager. The profile biography clearly states that his mother is not recognized as Mary Master as she was married to someone else, not Richard Brown. And you made the change with no consultation with any Profile Manager and giving no research results to back it up. I know you are new here and your intentions were/are no doubt good but please always read what is already written and try to understand what's behind it before making such changes.

I noticed that some of your Gedcom-created profiles have a title (specifically I've noticed Sir and Captain) in the first name field, and they have the actual first name in the middle-name field. This is one of those things that happens sometimes when Gedcoms are parsed. To avoid this and other errors, please check the name fields and other profile data before you create your profiles in Gedcompare.
