Biography

Note: This Eunice Williams is NOT the person who married Rufus Wheeler; this Eunice Williams who was born 03 Aug 1755 was the daughter of Elisha & Esther (Wheeler) Williams, and was the spouse of Isaac Denison, with whom she had 12 children. The Eunice Williams who married Rufus Wheeler was born 30 Jan 1767, daughter of William & Eunice (Prentice) Williams.

This Eunice Williams, born 3 Aug 1755, was the only child of Esther (Wheeler), the third wife of Elisha Williams.

She married 19 Nov 1773 at North Stonington, Connecticut, Isaac Denison. They had at least 12, perhaps 14 children during the ensuing timespan through July 1803, all born in or near Stonington.

Isaac Denison died in February 1817; per the 1840 Federal census Eunice was living in the household of her son Isaac Jr. [listed female aged 80-90] at Stonington, New London, Connecticut, USA.

Eunice (Williams) Denison died 8 Feb 1842 at Stonington. Her grave is in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic, Connecticut [[1]]. Gravestone inscription: "In Memory of Eunice Denison widow of Isaac Denison who died Feb 8 1842 in the 87th year of her age."

Williams-31301 and Williams-1617 appear to represent the same person because: Per the birth and death data, both represent the spouse of Isaac Denison. Apparently an inadvertent duplication. Careful use of the search function may minimize this in the future.
