Biography

Francesco Streva is a Corleone native, the son of Vincenzo and Domenica Badami.

Bernardino Verro, a labor organizer native to Corleone, forms a republican-socialist circle on 7 Feb 1892 with Calogero Milone, Biagio Gennaro, Francesco Puccio, Liborio Termini, Angelo Provenzano, and Francesco Streva, called La Nuova Eta’.^[1] The circle is made up of men with close Mafia connections: Milone and Streva each have at least one mafioso brother. Puccio is the compare of Mariano Colletto, a capo in the local Mafia.

Francesco marries Concettina Gennaro on 20 January 1901 in Manhattan.^[2]

Francesco and Concetta have at least three children: Domenica (1903), Vincenzo (1905) and Domenica Emiliana (1909).

Domenica, named after her paternal grandmother, is born 1 March 1903 in New York.^[3]

The couple return to Corleone sometime after 1903, when Domenica is born in New York, and before 1905, when Vincenzo is born.

Vincenzo is born 7 August 1905 in Corleone, and baptized ten days later, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Leoluca Gennaro and Maria Streva.

Domenica Emilia is baptized 23 February 1909.^[4] The naming of a second daughter, Domenica, indicates the first one has died.

A margin note on his baptismal record says Vincenzo marries on 31 January 1943 in Corleone to Bernarda Giuffrida, the daughter of Giuseppe.^[5]
