Biography
Angelo Michele Provenzano is born and baptized on 13 May 1866 in Corleone. He is the son of Maestro Mariano Provenzano and Francesca Paola Cortimiglia. His godparents are Maestro Vito Macaluso and Leoluchina Cortimiglia, a married couple.[1] Leoluchina is his maternal aunt.
Bernardino Verro, a labor organizer native to Corleone, and the same age as Angelo, forms a republican-socialist circle on 7 Feb 1892 with Calogero Milone, Biagio Gennaro, Francesco Puccio, Liborio Termini, Angelo Provenzano, and Francesco Streva, called La Nuova Eta’.[2] The circle is made up of men with close Mafia connections: Milone and Streva each have at least one mafioso brother. Puccio is the compare of Mariano Colletto, a capo in the local Mafia.
This is the only Angelo Provenzano who is close in age to Verro and the other members of Nuova Eta’. Cascio-10 22:28, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
Angelo Michele marries Giuseppa Provenzano, daughter of the late Maestro Calogero Provenzano and the living Rosa Cali’, on 24 November 1896 in Corleone.[3]
