Biography

Mariano Colletto is born and baptized 17 June 1854 in Corleone. He is the son of Filippo Colletto and Paola Ferraro. His godparents are Rosario Oliveri and Serafina Palermo, a married couple.[1]

Mariano marries Caterina Castro, daughter of the late Gaetano Castro and Mattea Vaccaro, on 15 January 1898. His parents have died by this time.[2]

John Alcorn names seven mafiosi, including the president of the Fratuzzi, among the officers and influential members of the Fasci Siciliani in 1893. He calls Mariano Colletti, age 40 (b. 1853), a capomafia (a captain in the Mafia), campiere (a field guard), famous livestock rustler, and a dangerous and turbulent League member.[3] This is the only Mariano Colletto born in Corleone between 1847-58. Justin Cascio 16-01, 5 May 2016 (EDT)

Mariano is killed on 15 February 1904 in the 21st hour (9PM), reportedly at age 46 (he is 49). His wife Caterina survives him.[4]
