Biography

William S. Slatton was born on November 17th, 1870 (presumably) to Wade Hampton Slatton Jr. and Mary Williams. William died on April 17th, 1872 and was laid to rest in Red Hill Cemetery in Whitwell, Tennessee. [1]

Research Notes

  • Family - William S. Slatton is assumed to be the son of Wade Hampton Slatton Jr. and Mary Williams, as they were the only Slatton couple enumerated in Marion County in the 1870 Census. Note that Wade Hampton's mother Elizabeth and unmarried sister Eliza were also of child-bearing age at this time, but these are improbable lines of descent.
