Biography

Donald Francis Shuffler was the eldest son of Frank Benjamin Shuffler (1888–1919) and Virginia "Virgie" Ballard (1889–1977), born on 13 May 1909 in Pacific Junction, Mills, Iowa. Don and his three brothers grew up in Plattville. After his father's death, the family moved to Council Bluffs.^{[1][2][3][4][5]}

Don married Esther Anna Thompson on 4 Jun 1926 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Don worked for the Pacific Fruit Express Company, where he began as an iceman and a clerk and worked his way up to managing the plant in the 1950s.^{[6][7][8][9][10][11]}

Don died in 1977 and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.^[12]
