Found in The State 15 October 1929: Mrs. Olga Marie Griffin, 60, life-long resident of Columbia, died early Monday morning while with her daughter, Mrs. John Pinckney Kelly, in Sumter. She had been ill about 19 months. Mrs. Griffin was a consistent member of Ebenezer Lutheran church, having joined it during her early childhood. She was a woman of kind and sweet disposition and made friends easily with nearly everyone with whom she came in contact. She was the oldest daughter of the late Frederick Schmidt. She is survived by one son, W. H. Griffin, of Mercer university; two daughters, Mrs. John Pinckney Kelly of Sumter and Mrs. Lester Jones of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Wesley Hagan of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. S. A. Hoefer of Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock this morning at Ebenezer Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. P. D. Brown, pastor. The body will arrive from Sumter and carried directly to the church.
