Biography

Hinrich Christian was born in 1857. He was the son of Jochim Scheel and Anna Magdelena Sophia Stender. ^[1] He passed away after 1873.

Research Notes

Christian immigrated to the US along with the Moeller family when he was 16, arriving in New York on 2 July 1873. Also traveling with the group was an Anna Kühl, age 22. The Moeller family located in Washington County, Nebraska, where the eldest Moeller daughter, Margaret was married to Hans Schwager. Fritz Moeller would marry Christian's sister Katherine in 1881. Katherine immigrated with the rest of the family; father Joachim, mother Anna and sister Ida in 1875. Jochim was found in the 1880 census record in Ft. Calhoun, Washington Co., listed as a widower so Anna must have died shortly after arriving.

I have not been able to find any information on Ida or Christian.
