According to his Find A Grave memorial page, Biaggio Patranella (Biagio Petranella) was born 18 September 1855 in Corleone, the son of Francesco Paolo Petranella and Biagia Riina.[1]
Biagio Petranella is born and baptized on 16 May 1858 in Corleone, the son of Francesco Paolo Petranella and Biagia Riina. His godparents are Leoluca Casella and Onofria Provenzano, a married couple.[2]
Biaggio was about 22 years old when he left Corleone, Provincia di Palermo, Sicilia, in 1880. According to his Find A Grave profile, Biaggio arrived on the Ship Po in May of 1880 at the port of New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.[1] No such ship has been found docking in the US until 1891. After his arrival in America, he settled in Brazos County, Texas. He and Maria Benedetta Pomara had a double wedding with his sister, Arcangela Petranella and her husband Felipo Paternostro on January 8, 1887, in Brazos County, Texas.[1]
Biagio and Maria Benedetta have at least six children, five living: Frank (1887), Charley (1890), John (1894), Biagio (1895), and Luke (1898).

Biagio Petronella, born April 1855, age 45, his wife Benedetta, born in September 1861, age 39, and children Frank, born in October 1887, age 12, Charley, born in August 1890, age 9, John, born in July 1894, age 5, Biagio Jr., born in September 1895, age 4, and Luke, born July 1898, age 1. Benedetta has had six children, five living. She and Biagio were born in Italy and the children in Texas. Biagio is a farmer. He emigrated in 1881 and is a naturalized citizen. Benedetta emigrated in 1886. Frank is a farm laborer. Biagio owns his home.[3]
In the 1910 federal census, Biagio Petranella’s family is recorded as the Petrello family on Top Street Road in Bryan, Texas. Biagio and his wife Etta are 55 years old (b. 1855) and married for 23 years (m. 1887). Both were born in Italy. Biagio emigrated in 1880 and is naturalized. His wife came in 1886. Biagio is a merchant, working on his own account. (His two neighbors, Gelber and Cook, are in the same profession.) Their children at home are all sons, born in Texas: Charlie, 18 (b. 1892), John, 14 (b. 1896), Biagio, 12 (b. 1898), and Luke, 9 (b. 1901).[4]
In the 1920 federal census of Precinct 4, Bryan City, Brazos County, Texas, a household on West 18 matches Biagio Patronella and his wife, Benedetta, both 62 years old (b. 1856). Their names have been written as Pallerta and Bennereta. They have three sons at home: John, 24 (b. 1896), Joseph, 22 (b. 1898), and Luke, 20 (b. 1900). Biagio owns his home. He was born in Italy and immigrated in 1878. His wife is also Italian and doesn’t know her emigration date. The children were born in Texas. Biagio is a retired farmer. John is a tailor, and Luke is a grocery store clerk.[5]
In the 1930 federal census of Bryan, TX, at 4201 Oak Grove Ave, B. Patronella, 69 (b. 1861), owns his home. He lives with Mary, his wife, 70 (b. 1860), both born in Italy. He immigrated in 1861 and she in 1864.[6]
Frank and Charlie, married sisters, also born in Bryan, Texas, to immigrants from Corleone. Frank married Josephine Carrabba and Charlie married her sister, Jennie.[1]
Biaggio died at age 70 on 13 March 1936 in Bryan, TX. He is buried in Mt. Calvary Cem in Bryan with his family.[1]
Maria Benedetta died at age 75 on 30 December 1941.[7]
