Biography

Lucia Petranella, a native of Corleone, daughter of Francesco Paolo Petranella and Biagia Riina, marries Ignazio Rao, a native and resident of Prizzi, the son of Vito Rao and Giulia Mancuso, on 21 September 1862 in Corleone.^[1]

There are no birth records available or Census reports of her early life. Her DOB was obtained from her grave marker. In her death certificate 41464, she is listed as a widow and residing at 1302 W. Dallas Street in Houston, with her daughter Carrie Rao Palazzo and son-in-law Sam Palazzo. When She died at 3:00 pm on 4 September 1933. Records have been found of her being cites as the mother on the death certificates of two of her children, Julia Rao (Deuchanszcho) and her son Luke Leon Rao.
